AVA Region X History
The American Vaulting Association created six regions: I, II, III, IV, IX, and X.
Region X includes 14 states and encompasses about 23% of the total land mass of the continental US.
In the beginning, the region's contact with the AVA was a Resource Person appointed by the AVA president. Karen Rach of the Agape Vaulters held this position starting in 1986 when the Agape Vaulters joined the AVA.
In 2003, the region grew with AVA clubs and adult members qualifying it for AVA Board representation. Laurie DeLalla, the first Region X Supervisor, was appointed by then AVA president Nancy Stevens-Brown.
In August 2007, Region X's AVA adult members adopted bylaws for the region. In December, the region elected its first officers:
- President - Jane Egger (Agape Vaulters)
- Vice President - Paul Graves (A Vaulting Connection)
- Treasurer - Cindy Mehaney (Fiddler's Green Vaulters)
- Secretary - Anita Boyd (Elements of Grace Vaulters)
